Quinn Aiken · Virtual Personal Training & Performance Coaching

10Years of Experience 100+Clients Trained 10,000+Sessions Coached

One-on-one coaching, live over video, built on one idea that ten thousand sessions have only made me more sure of: feeling better comes before looking better. Energy, sleep, and how your body feels day to day move first. The visible changes follow, and they follow consistency — so everything I do is built around getting you somewhere you actually want to keep going.

Coaching runs live over video, with training, nutrition, and messaging managed in one app. In Buffalo, Cleveland, and New York City we can also start in person and meet quarterly.

About Quinn

What I Actually Do.

I’m a personal trainer and performance coach. That’s the whole of it — it’s what I’ve done full time for ten years and it’s the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do professionally.

The volume behind that: forty sessions a week for roughly five years at Sculpt Fitness alone, and over ten thousand across my career. Over a hundred clients from just about every demographic you can name — executives and warehouse workers, competitive athletes and people who hadn’t exercised in a decade.

Sculpt is a private training gym in downtown Cleveland where I built individualized training and lifestyle programs around whatever each person was actually trying to change. I was named Trainer of the Quarter there more than once. Alongside it I spent six years coaching speed and power under Kim Curtis — an elite sprints coach who has trained Olympic and World Championship level track athletes — in settings from private sessions to large clinics. She gave me my first job in this industry and remains the biggest mentor I’ve had.

Education

BS, Psychology — John Carroll University, 2018. Research-heavy track; completed four independent studies as an undergraduate.

BA, Exercise Science — John Carroll University, 2018. Pre-physical-therapy focus, including the full hard science prerequisite sequence.

Also: Leadership Scholar (one of three signature scholarships at JCU) · Psychology Research Recognition Award · Psi Chi National Honor Society, chapter treasurer · Chi Alpha Sigma National Collegiate Athlete Honor Society

Why I Coach This Way.

I finished those two degrees at the same time on purpose. Exercise science tells you what the body should do. Psychology tells you why people don’t do it. Almost every client I’ve had who struggled wasn’t failing at the mechanics — they were fighting something else. Time, self-consciousness, a bad history with gyms, a plan that never fit their real life.

“I do my best to meet my clients where they are that day, whether up or down, and motivate them to get the biggest net positive out of the time we have.”

Quinn Aiken — VoyageOhio, 2022

That approach has a name — transformational leadership — and it’s the opposite of how a lot of trainers work. Some push as hard as possible every session regardless of your recovery or energy. Over a few weeks that looks impressive. Over a few years it’s why people quit. If the work is something you can stand to keep doing, you keep doing it, and that is the entire game.

It’s also why I lead with feeling better rather than looking better. I said the same thing in an interview back in 2022 and I’ve only gotten more convinced of it since. Chase the visible changes directly and you tend to burn out before they arrive. Build something sustainable and they show up on their own.

“Be their friend by the end.”

Walking into a gym is intimidating, and handing your body over to someone is a real act of trust. Earning that is most of the job, and it’s the part most trainers skip. The programming is the easy half — I’ve written a thousand versions of it. What determines whether this works is whether you want to show up, and whether you feel like someone is actually in it with you.

The Research Background

My psychology degree was research-heavy: four independent studies as an undergraduate, using validated psychometric instruments and multiple regression analysis controlling for confounding variables, with findings that replicated across separate samples and methods. The work earned a departmental research award and induction into Psi Chi, the national psychology honor society, where I served as chapter treasurer.

The subject matter has nothing to do with fitness. The training does. I spent two years learning how to measure human behavior properly — how to isolate what’s actually driving an outcome, how to tell a real effect from noise, and how easily people hold onto beliefs that the evidence doesn’t support. That’s a useful habit of mind in an industry that runs largely on confident guessing.

As for my own athletic background: college soccer at John Carroll, a stint in the UPSL, a state title before that, and enough injuries — concussions, back surgery at twenty — to know what training around a body that doesn’t fully cooperate actually feels like. That last part is genuinely useful. The rest is just background. Nobody hires a trainer for his old highlight reel; you hire one because he can get you somewhere you haven’t been able to get on your own.

How It Works

Three Steps. No Guesswork.

Getting started is a conversation, not a sales pitch. Here’s exactly what happens — and what you get access to.

STEP ONE

We Talk First

A real conversation about where you are, what you want, what your week looks like, and anything your body is dealing with. In Buffalo, Cleveland, or New York City we can do this in person. Everywhere else it’s a video call. No obligation either way — if I’m not the right fit, I’ll say so.

STEP TWO

You Get a Plan

A program built from that conversation — your goals, your schedule, your starting point. Not a template. It lands in your app with video demos for every movement, and gets adjusted as you improve.

STEP THREE

We Stay In It

Two live video sessions a week, programming for the days between, nutrition tracking, and direct access to me in the app. If you’re within reach, I come to you in person once a quarter to reassess in the same room.

The Platform

Everything Lives in One App.

Your training runs through Trainerize, so the workouts, the nutrition side, the check-ins, and the direct line to me are all in one place on your phone. No spreadsheets, no scattered texts, no wondering what you’re supposed to be doing today.

Included — No Extra Cost

Your Workouts

Every session laid out with video demos for each movement, so you always know the what and the how. Log your sets as you go.

Nutrition Tracking

Food and macro logging built in, with habit targets we set together and adjust as things change. Structure without a rigid meal plan.

Direct Messaging

Questions, schedule changes, or a week that fell apart — message me in the app and get a real answer, not an automated reply.

Progress You Can See

Strength, body metrics, habits, and photos tracked over time. Useful on the weeks when it doesn’t feel like anything is changing.

Who is it for? Probably you.

Ten thousand sessions with over a hundred people — executives and warehouse workers, competitive athletes and people who hadn’t exercised since high school. The approach changes every time. The care doesn’t. And since coaching runs over video, where you live isn’t part of the equation.

Starting Over

You used to be active and you’re not anymore, and the gap feels bigger every year. You don’t need to be talked into it — you need someone to make the first month feel possible.

Starting From Zero

You’ve never really trained. Gyms are intimidating and every program online assumes you already know what you’re doing. We’ll build the basics properly, at a pace that makes sense.

Athletes Between Seasons

You compete, and you want the off-season to actually count. Movement quality, strength, and durability — the work that shows up when your season starts.

Busy and Inconsistent

You know what to do. You just can’t stay consistent alone. The accountability and the check-ins are the part that’s been missing, not the exercises.

How Sessions Actually Run

This is a virtual program by design. Coaching happens live over video, which means your location doesn’t limit who you can work with — and after ten thousand sessions, most of what I need to see reads perfectly well on camera. What changes by region is how often we get in the same room.

In Their Words

Testimonials

The thing I’m proudest of in these isn’t the pounds lost or the marathons run. It’s that so many of them are measured in years — three years, four years, still going. That’s the whole thesis, in other people’s words.

“When we started working together I was the heaviest I’ve ever been, totally deconditioned, and super uncomfortable being back in a gym. He immediately put me at ease, and helped me rebuild my confidence around fitness — and I’m now lighter and stronger as a result. Quinn is also incredibly knowledgeable, providing modifications when necessary and helping me through various injuries.”

A note on these: every one of them comes from in-person training in Cleveland, before I moved to a virtual-first model. The format has changed. The coaching hasn’t.

Common Questions

Before You Ask.

Do I need a gym membership?

No. Your programming gets written for whatever you actually have access to — a full gym, a few dumbbells in a basement, or nothing at all — and every movement in the app comes with a video demo. Since we train over video, your setup is the starting point, not a problem to solve first.

What does “virtual” actually mean?

A live video session where I coach you through the work in real time — watching your form, adjusting on the fly, correcting things as they happen. It is not a recorded video you follow along to, and it is not a PDF with a check-in text. Between sessions, your programming, nutrition logging, and a direct line to me all live in the Trainerize app, and you can send clips of your lifts for real feedback. After ten thousand sessions, most of what I need to see reads fine on camera.

Is this an in-person or online program?

Virtual, by design. Week-to-week coaching runs live over video no matter where you live. The in-person piece is deliberate rather than incidental: in Buffalo, Cleveland, and New York City we can do your first consultation face to face and then meet once a quarter to reassess. In Los Angeles I get out less often, so those check-ins land somewhere in the six-to-twelve-month range. Anywhere else, it’s fully virtual — and that works.

Do you handle nutrition too?

Yes, and it’s built into the same app rather than bolted on. You get food and macro logging alongside your training, and we set habit targets together and adjust them as things change. I’ll be straight about the line here: I’m a certified trainer with an exercise science degree, not a registered dietitian. What I offer is practical structure and accountability around how you eat — not clinical nutrition therapy. If something comes up that needs an RD or a physician, I’ll tell you rather than guess.

Am I getting less because I’m remote?

No, and the rate is the same either way. Two live sessions a week, the same programming, the same app, the same nutrition tools, the same access to me. What a local client gets on top is four in-person meetings a year, which are useful for hands-on technique work but aren’t what drives results. Consistency drives results, and the app plus live video doesn’t get in the way of that.

I’m really out of shape. Is that a problem?

It’s the most normal starting point there is. Out of more than a hundred clients, a large share started exactly there. Nothing about the first month is designed to overwhelm you or prove a point — the goal early on is that you keep coming back, not that you leave impressed.

What if I have an injury or something my doctor is watching?

Tell me in the first conversation. My exercise science degree was on a pre-physical-therapy track, and I’ve had back surgery and multiple concussions myself — training around a body that doesn’t fully cooperate is familiar territory, not an inconvenience. Where it makes sense I’ll ask you to loop in your physician or physical therapist so we’re aligned. I’m a coach, not a clinician. I’ll stay in my lane and be straight with you about where that line is.

How fast will I see results?

Slower than the industry likes to promise, and in a different order than most people expect. Energy, sleep, mood, and how your body feels getting out of a chair tend to move first — often within a few weeks. The changes you can see in a mirror come later, and they come as a byproduct of consistency. The first couple of months are about building that, not about impressing you.

Am I locked into a contract?

No. It’s month to month and you can stop whenever you want. The rate lock works in your favor: as long as you keep training, you keep the rate you started at, even after it rises for new clients.

What if I need to travel or miss a week?

It happens to everyone and it’s built into how this works. Because sessions are already virtual, travel usually changes nothing at all — we run the session from wherever you are and adjust the programming for a hotel gym. Life moving around is expected. It isn’t a reason to fall off.

Get Started

Start With a Conversation.

No payment, no commitment, no pitch. Tell me where you’re at and what you’re hoping to change, and I’ll get back to you personally — usually the same day. If you’re in Buffalo, Cleveland, or New York City we can do the first conversation in person; otherwise it’s a video call. If I’m not the right coach for what you need, I’ll tell you that too.
